Barcelona pull off historic comeback against PSG in Champions League
Barça overturned a 4-0 first-leg deficit to win 6-5 on aggregate
Neymar-less PSG side held on to a 1-1 draw in the second leg but it wasn't enough to prevent them from crashing out of the competition
FC Barcelona pulled off one of the most epic comebacks in the history of the Champions League on Wednesday night, overturning a 4-0 first-leg deficit to beat Paris Saint-Germain 6-5 on aggregate.
The match was played in front of a sell-out crowd at the Camp Nou, and the atmosphere was electric from the start. PSG took the lead in the third minute through Edinson Cavani, but Barcelona hit back with three goals in the first half from Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi and Neymar.
PSG pulled one back in the second half through Julian Draxler, but Barcelona were not to be denied. Sergi Roberto scored the winning goal in the 95th minute, sending the Camp Nou into raptures.
It was a remarkable comeback from Barcelona, who had been written off by many after their first-leg defeat. However, they showed great spirit and determination to overturn the deficit and reach the quarter-finals.
PSG will be left to rue their missed chances, but they can take some solace from the fact that they gave Barcelona a scare. They will now have to focus on winning the Ligue 1 title and the Coupe de France.
